History of UMS

    1990 The new tenancy law which allows subletting is introduced in Switzerland.
    1992 As a student, Nik Kleiner sets up the Mitwohnservice Bern, the first business in Switzerland to specialise in the agency of temporarily sublet apartments.
    1997 Jürg Guggisberg founds a licensed branch in Basel. The Mitwohnservice is now called Untermietservice.
    1999 A licensed branch is established in Zurich. From 2002, it also belongs to Nik Kleiner.
    2004 The three branches Bern, Basel and Zurich merge to one company in Bern - UMS Temporary Housing is born.
    2006 Christian Beldner takes the operative management.
    2007 UMS is certificated to train apprentices.
    2008

    Foundation of the public limited company UMS Ltd.

    Development & Implementation of a spefific concept for the EURO 2008 in Switzerland.

    2009 Implementation of a customer survey in co-operation with the Swiss Tourism Association. We receive an average score of 3.6 (maximum of 4). An outstanding result was achieved by our employees: nearly 3.8 points.
      UMS launches its brand new Internet portal together with the newest IT-Application, called Appartementschik 3.
